It doesn’t matter who you are or what station in life you hold, there’s a pretty good chance you’ve felt the joy of finding love and the pain of losing it. Indeed, meeting someone new can be a great thing. It’s pretty exciting when the two of you hit it off right from the start. With a little luck, all of those good feelings could turn into love. Next, if you’re lucky, will come the whispering of sweet nothings, “I can’t imagine my life without you,” or “You complete me.” Not to mention, my personal favorite, “Guess what. I’m the only man I know who still loves his wife!” Then, somehow, it’s over. Breaking up is hard. That’s when you really need to hear the saddest love song, “I Can’t Make You Love Me.”

“I Can’t Make You Love Me” is a classic love song.
It was originally recorded by ten-time Grammy winner and Rock and Roll Hall of Famer, Bonnie Raitt. Although there have been many, many covers of this sorrowful song, there’s something about this duet by Boyce Avenue ft. Rachel Grae that breaks my heart. Give it a listen and see if you agree that it is, if not the saddest love song, it’s right up there with the saddest of the sad.
(By the way, many tears were shed during the writing of this short post about what I consider to be the ultimate song about breaking up.)
What to do?
Cry, baby, cry. There’s no other way to get the pain out of your system when you lose love. And remember, if you’re suffering after breaking up, please be gentle with yourself.
Speaking of sad and sorrowful, here’s a Dance Safari post, “A Poem About Ballroom Dancing.” Many readers seem to like it.
If you’re blessed with love in your life, you don’t need much more. Here’s wishing you, your family, friends, and neighbors the best in the coming new year.

Such a sad thing it is to ‘lose’ love. I do hope that you are not suffering this loss.
