Need a Change? 4 Ways Ballroom Dancing Will Help

If you feel like you’re missing something and life is passing you by, then it’s time to ask yourself a few questions. Be honest in your answers. How do you see yourself? How do you think others see you? What about your social life? Is there an activity in your life that challenges you? If you’re being candid and are troubled by any of your answers, then, my friend, you need a change. With this in mind, I have just the thing – ballroom dancing!

By the way, “How to Be Honest with Yourself and Get More Done” is an article from lifehack.org. The author, Justin Miller, makes some good points.

Times like these call for bold actions. In fact, ballroom dancing is designed to get you out of your head and into your hips. Without a doubt, you must confront the past and shout out loud that it’s time to transform, adjust, and redo yourself into a more spirited image.

No matter what’s gone down in your life, your future will look brighter with dance.

Do your replies to the questions above look anything like this?

How do you see yourself?

As nothing special.”

  1. When you learn how to ballroom dance, you’re gonna feel special. The reason for that is whenever you tell someone about it, they’ll say, “Oh, I’ve always wanted to ballroom dance.” The truth is, you’re actually doing something others only dream of.

How do others see you?

Rough around the edges.”

2. There’s a definite air of glamour that surrounds people who are comfortable tripping the light fantastic. Think Fred and Ginger with their playful, yet elegant ways. No one could accuse them of being ‘rough around the edges’. Adjust your attitude and know that you are indeed unique.

What about your social life?

“Shy and timid. It’s very difficult to socialize and act friendly at gatherings.

Larry David is shy around people. He needs a change.

3. It’s understandable to feel that way when you’re around people you don’t know. Just think how nice it’ll be when you become a part of the ballroom dancing community. You’ll never think of yourself as a loner again. It’s impossible because, by its very definition, it takes two to Tango. When you make it your business to become the best you can be, you’ll have something in common with many happy people. And, because you all speak the language of dance, you’ll never be at a loss for words.

Is there an activity in your life that challenges you?

Lots of activities challenge me. On the other hand, sometimes motivation is lacking. Besides that, there’s the issue of not being physically gifted.

4. I’m gonna say it, you need a change and a challenge. However, picking up ballroom dancing isn’t easy. It’s kind of like learning another language. Therefore, you’ve got to put in the time taking lessons, practicing, and enjoying your new skill. Once you start, you won’t be able to imagine stopping. Truly, the feeling of moving to the music with your partner is magical.

Adapt a winning attitude when you need a change.

Lots of people think they’re clumsy and not physically gifted. Guess what. You don’t have to be in order to dance. As a matter of fact, the act of learning how to hold yourself when you’re dancing is going to improve not only your posture but your balance as well. This will give you more confidence in your movements, both on and off the dance floor.

It’s time to throw down the gauntlet and take things into your own hands. You need a change. Let’s dance!

  1. I am so with you, Barbara. It IS like learning a new language. However, the more we learn the greater the rewards.
It’s no secret that K had two left feet and no balance when we first started to dance back in 06. Now he’s one of the most fabulous dancers on the social floor. How truly special dancing is.
