According to news reports, Amazon and online shopping is taking over retail. Admittedly, it’s hard to beat the convenience. I believe there are 6 compelling reasons to shop Amazon.
My Reasons to Shop Amazon
1. It has just about anything you can think of.
What are you looking for? How about some Diwali lights? They have ’em. Do you need a generator before the next hurricane? No problem. Remember my daughter Cheyenne’s dog Dollar with the torn ACL. I was looking for a brace for him. It’s nuts to see how many I have to choose from.
So, yeah, they carry everything and you can expect online shopping excellence.
2. They have one or two-day shipping.
I think what’s killing the stores is that Amazon’s delivery is generally really fast. As a Prime member, I just about always get my purchases in two days. As a matter of fact, they’ve now have a policy of delivering the next day. In fact, in some cases, you can get it the same day or even within two hours. Why should I get out of my pajamas to go to the store when it can be on my doorstep in no time?

3. It’s easy to buy something.
Talk about online shopping convenience, Amazon doesn’t make you jump through hoops to make a purchase. A couple of clicks and you’re done. However, make sure you’re signed in to take advantage of this perk.
4. Another reason to shop Amazon is they have tons of customer reviews.
I don’t know about you, but if I’m not familiar with a product, I want to read some reviews. And, that’s another reason to shop Amazon. They’re filthy with reviews. Tons to read to help you make the right decision. That’s online shopping convenience I don’t want to do without.
5. Easy returns for online shoppers.
It couldn’t be easier to return something. One example is, you can now bring your return or exchange to any Kohl’s and they’ll take care of it for you. Amazing Amazon, right? Check out this post from The Krazy Coupon Lady about Amazon returns.
6. Great customer service.
So, here’s my story. Recently, Dance Safari published a post called, “5 Health and Wellness Goodies I’m Never Without“. It just so happened that I was close to being out of one of those goodies, Silver Biotics Silver Gel.
I went online to make my purchase on Amazon. I ordered a 2-pack of 4 oz. tubes. When it was delivered the next day, I found only one tube. I could have exchanged it for a 2-pack, but didn’t want to bother because they could just send me one more.
I needed to talk to someone in Customer Service.
There isn’t a phone number to call them, but if you click the “Call me” button on the website, they’ll call you. Anyway, I click the button, but I’m dreading it because you know what it’s like when you have to call to speak to a representative at any business. Might as well set aside an hour, ’cause there is no hurrying these people.
In contrast, this is what happened. I clicked the button, got up and walked into the bathroom where my grandson was taking a bath (about 15 feet away) and the phone rang. “Hi, this is Pia with Amazon Customer Service. How can I help you today?“
When I explained to Pia that I ordered a 2-pack of the Silver Gel online and would be very happy if they would send me another tube to complete my order. She said that wouldn’t be possible. But, she offered to send me a new 2-pack and I could keep the one I had received. Yeah, baby! I’ll do it.
Within 24 hours there was a new package at my door. I was so excited to open it, only to be disappointed to find…one tube. Oh, no, not again.
It seemed clear that there was a glitch in the pricing. Therefore, I sent a short email explaining what I got so they could fix the error in the system.
Boy was I surprised the next morning when I awoke to find an email from Amazon saying they had processed a full refund for my trouble. In addition, they sent a very nice note apologizing and thanking me for pointing out the error to them.
In short, Amazon is a tremendously big operation and it does a lot of business. But, they seem to have mastered the art of serving the customer. I am not about to stop online shopping at Amazon any time soon.
