My dog, Roxie, is a 7-year-old Australian Shepherd/Australian Cattle dog mix, aka Texas Heelers. (Read here about working dogs. Please note #2 and #5. LOL) One of the things I love about her is Roxie likes to help out and will sometimes bring me things. Of course, there’s always a price to pay.
Roxie likes me to wake up when she gets up, so she’s figured out that if she brings me my clothes, I’ll get out of bed. A few years ago I taught her to bring me my shorts in the morning. Well, I didn’t really teach her, one day I just asked her to do it, and she did. Now, it’s a thing.
I know Roxie likes to help out, however, at this point, I think maybe her hearing is starting to go. I say this because this morning I asked her to bring me my shorts. She didn’t get them. Not only that, I think she misunderstood what I was asking for. Maybe she heard shoes, ‘cause she went to the closet, picked up my flip flops, and brought them to me.
What a gal! To learn more about Roxie, please read this Dance Safari post, “A Dog Named Roxie…A Tale of Doggy Love.” Thanks!
