It’s Valentine’s Day and, if you’re looking for something different to do this year, here’s a suggestion. If you’re ready for a Valentine’s Day adventure, why not go back in time and celebrate like a little kid? C’mon, it’ll be fun!
It’s been a while. What can we do on this Valentine’s Day adventure?
It’s a good idea to start with an Arts and Crafts project. Get some construction paper, paper doilies, crayons, markers, or paint and go to town. Don’t forget the sappy sayings. It’s okay, ’cause it’s coming from the heart.
Ya gotta have a gift for your sweetie.
Give chocolates (Hershey’s Hugs and Kisses will work), Conversation Hearts, maybe a heart-shaped lollipop. For bonus points, don’t forget a stuffed animal.
My Grandson, Logan, and I watch a lot of a kid’s show called Cocomelon. This song, Skidamarink is from that show. It’s really cute, and like Karaoke, they’ll show you the words so you can sing along.
Another sweet song of love from the past is Bicycle Built for Two. This version is sung by the great Nat King Cole. You’re welcome.
How about a baking activity?
Make some cookies. This will really be a Valentine’s Day adventure if you’re not much of a baker. Here’s a secret recipe, Pillsbury Ready to Bake Hearts Shape Sugar Cookies. No mixing, cookie cutters, or slicing, Just place the raw cookies on a cookie sheet and bake. It’d be fun to eat them as you watch “If You Give a Mouse a Valentine’s Day Cookie”.
One last thing.
You’ll probably want to dance with your sweetie. Many of the most romantic ballads are too slow for traditional dances but are perfect for Nightclub Two-Step. Try this Dance Safari post, “Nightclub Two-Step – Why You Need It in Your Life“.
Okay, so there you have it. Maybe it sounds crazy, but you have to admit it’d be kind of fun to act like a kid again as you spend loving time with the man or woman of your dreams.
