This quote has me asking some questions. For example, would you say these are words of encouragement? Does reading this make you look for ways to inspire others? Do you feel like everybody needs a helping hand once in a while?
Inspiring others to be all they can be is a gift.
Certainly, it’s the gift of hope for people who are looking to move forward. To illustrate, here are some examples:
Kids Who Have Lost Their Way
Say you have a child who’s on the brink of becoming an adult, and he or she has yet to find themselves. The trouble is, they’re not even looking. Without a doubt, they may be lazy, uneducated, or just too self-absorbed to put themselves out. They don’t do more than live day-to-day.
Children, both young and old, need to feel the pride that comes with accomplishing a goal. For this reason, let’s support them in their search for motivation.
Homeless or Underemployed Need Love, Too
Should we just write these people off as slow-moving, unindustrious folks who are tired and indifferent? Despite where they are currently, is it possible that by reaching out with some words of encouragement, we can set them on the road to recovery?
Make the time to help the homeless or underemployed. Obviously, they need to be able to provide for themselves. In their situation, they probably need a better job, a place to stay, and someone to put them on the path to a better life. In time, you just might get through to them.
Senior Citizens Need Words of Encouragement
Often alone, the elderly easily lose hope for a better life. Not surprisingly, for some, it seems the good days are behind them and the future has nothing to look forward to.
Sometimes assistance comes in the form of a challenge they can be successful at. For instance, activities like a friendly card game, a daily exercise habit with a partner, or even (dare I say it?) ballroom dance lessons are great ways to start. Anything that involves being around others will ease the pain of loneliness.
It’s for sure, turning your life around may feel like a big job. If that’s the case, here’s a Dance Safari post to help you, “Make One Good Step and the Others Seem Easier.“
What can we do to help others become all they can and should be?

The answer is, we need to find the right words.
- “I believe in you.“
- “Believe in yourself.”
- “Follow your dreams.“
- “What are you waiting for?“
- “There you go!“
- “Good job.“
- “Keep up the good work.“
- “Hang in there.“
- “I’m so proud of you!“

Being able to inspire and motivate people with your words and actions will make you feel pretty good. I guess you could say that, even though you’re reaching out to others, you get to enjoy the benefits of your generosity, too.

Wise words, Barbara!

Ah, there you go, encouraging me again. Thanks, Carolyn. You’re the best!
