One of my children had an interesting day today. Even though it involved an awkward encounter, she did manage to indulge in a delicious sweet treat as she recuperated.
Here’s what happened.
My daughter went to the corner store to turn in a lottery ticket. She recognized the clerk as someone familiar and quite chatty. It had been a while since she’d been in the store and she wasn’t sure the clerk would remember her.
As she got to the counter, the clerk said, “Hey, how have you been?” Surprised, my daughter said, “Wow, I wasn’t sure you’d recognize me with a mask and new bangs!”
To which the clerk replied, “I didn’t”.
I doubt she meant it to be, but it was an awesome burn, but we laughed and laughed about it.
What to do after such an awkward encounter…
Well, she did what any woman would do on a Saturday morning…she went to Starbucks. There she encountered something that wasn’t awkward at all. Indeed it was the latest holiday drink, the Irish Cream Cold Brew.
She couldn’t stop talking about it. It was cold and creamy and not too sweet. She simply had to have the recipe. “Mom, help,” she cried. So I went to work and came up with a simple solution to her dilemma.
Lift up your spirits with this yummy rendition of what’s destined to become a Starbucks classic.

It’s gonna be just like at the coffee shop.
Nah, this is how we do it.
Okay, wait, try this, “Ain’t nothing like the real thing, baby”
Enjoy! Let’s hope Starbucks keeps this drink year round.
Finally, my child forwarded this message of love and encouragement from the singer Pink.
I hope it moves you as much as it did me.

That reminds me of this Dance Safari post, “6 Things Your Mom Would Tell You About the Power of Positive Thinking“. Wishing everyone a year that, as we look back on it, we’ll smile. Thanks to my family for love and support. It means the world to me.

So does this mean that the Irish cream flavor is making a comeback?🤞
Here’s what the website says,
“Beginning Tuesday, December 1, Starbucks customers can enjoy the returning favorite Irish Cream Cold Brew. Back for its second holiday season, the beverage is made with Starbucks® Cold Brew coffee and Irish cream syrup over ice, topped with a frothy cap of vanilla sweet cream cold foam like a layer of fresh snow and a dusting of cocoa powder. It is available at Starbucks stores across the U.S. and Canada for a limited time, while supplies last.”
My child has purchased the ingredients to make her own. Loving it!
