Change is a constant in our lives. For example, it could be anything…a change of seasons, a change in your personal or professional life, or a change in your health. Above all, accept the change by keeping a relaxed, focused response. In addition, stay flexible. You’re simply being challenged to solve a problem or deal with new developments.
The most recent change in my life was definitely a challenge.
Way to mess up the 4th of July weekend!
I decided to go to the beach near my home in Bradenton, FL. Being the holiday weekend, there were lots of tourists visiting the area. Unfortunately, some drivers from out of state aren’t familiar with drawbridges in Florida and don’t know that they need to stop. After being rear-ended I suffered neck and back injuries.
As a result of these new developments, I was unable to carry out my duties as the manager at a ballroom dance studio. As a matter of fact, the physical requirements of running a dance studio caused me much pain and stress. Because I needed time to get better, eventually I left.
After being in the ballroom dance industry for 40 years, I was now unable to continue. Of course, I was devastated.
Oh well, acceptance is next.
Accept the change.
To begin with, allow things to unfold rather than resisting and manipulating. Isn’t it true that the new situation may turn out to be better than the old one? In any case, you’ll never know if you head straight into battle and begin fighting it. Actually, by embracing change you empower yourself. Furthermore, you take away the fear and replace it with acceptance. Remove the resistance and you’re free to grow in your new reality.

My new reality.

Me, a nanny? You bet! Within two weeks, I was in my new home.
It’s all about attitude, isn’t it? You have the power to accept the change and transform your future. Afterward, sit back and watch your blessings grow.
