Doing Your Best is Getting Tough These Days

Using the power of positive thinking and chanting positive affirmations are great ways to get through difficult situations. Doing your best can only happen when your mind is focused and relaxed. However, nowadays, for most people, that’s getting harder and harder to achieve.

What’s going on?

Indeed, that’s a good question. For sure, any and all of the following is guaranteed to mess with your peace of mind. (In alphabetical order.)

  • Isolation

Makes me wanna holla!

It’s no wonder that some of us feel anxious.  For this reason, I recommend relaxing with a cup of tea.  Sleepytime Extra, anyone? It always works for me. Try it!

Although some of our current troubles won’t last forever, we’ll have to wait on the others to see how they play out. Therefore, the important thing is to watch out for and acknowledge loving acts. Friends and family will surprise you when you least expect it. In addition, doing your best is easier with the help of others.

Above all, pay attention to the little things.

For example, this morning, my dog Roxie mosied up to me and, with love in her eyes, gently put her chin on my knee.  “Hungry, girl?  Wanna eat?”  She smiles and licks her lips.  Shortly thereafter, my grandson Logan bounced over to me and tucked his head into my armpit for a quick snuggle.  Finally, I get it.  In short, it’s being on the receiving end of a little bit of affection that delivers a peaceful easy feeling.
