TikTok Dances – What Are They and Why Are They So Cool?

TikTok is a mobile application, aka an app.  Apps are computer programs (software) for phones, tablets, or watches.  TikTok is an entertainment app featuring short-form videos that are typically 15-30 seconds in length.  Lots of viewers are loving the TikTok dances.

Most of us are, shall we say, not getting out as much as we used to. For this reason, watching and learning these short TikTok dance challenges is a fun way to get moving. Furthermore, in a relatively short period of time, the popularity of the app has gone through the roof. In the event that you’re not already checking it out, I recommend you do so soon at TikTok.com.

TikTok contributors know that anyone can create awesome dance videos.

How to make a TikTok dance.

Naturally, you’ll need to download the app and watch tons of dance challenges. You’ll get some good ideas about how to create your dance by watching others.

After a while, you’ll be ready to choose a song. Although dancers can use whatever style of music they like, Hip-Hop is by far the most common. Next comes the choreography. Finally, when it’s complete, access the TikTok home page to record, edit, and upload directly to the app.

Charli d’Amelio is a 16-year-old girl who’s dance videos are currently among the most popular on TikTok.

Where do the dance routines come from?

You simply make them up. Anyone can create, record, and post a TikTok dance routine. You don’t have to be a professional dancer to be a part of the community. In fact, all you need is the desire to share your dance moves with the world.

Additionally, it seems there are some steps that are used quite often. For example, the Running Man and some Fortnite moves are typical. Therefore, it can be said that TikTok dance challenges have their own syllabus.

The words of the song will often determine the choreography. For example, if the song mentions the word listen, the dancer might place his hand by his ear. They might mimic feeding themselves to words like eating or food. You get the picture.

You’ll see lots of routines over and over as you get to enjoy each dancer’s unique style. The TikTok routine for the song Renegade is one of the most popular dances. Also, here’s a tutorial to help you learn the routine yourself, as well as shortcuts to creating your own masterpiece.

Go ahead and make your own videos.

The TikTok app has everything you need to create, edit, save, and post your own TikTok dance videos. From the home page, click on the plus sign (+) at the bottom. After this, you’ll be taken to the Record page where your work can begin. Here’s a video that’ll answer all of your questions.

Don’t forget you’re going to need a place to practice. Dance Safari’s post, “A Small Dance Studio in Your Home” will have some tips.

So, now that you’ve experienced TikTok dance challenges, do you know why they’re so cool?

According to researchers, humans are hard-wired to imitate the movements of others. What’s more, doing so gives us the freedom to express ourselves in a variety of ways. As a dancer, I know that’s true.

Whether you’re a viewer or creator, TikTok gives you a chance to be a part of a movement. Indeed, this is a way of life that insists that you be more artistic, imaginative, and free. Free to dance, move, try new things. Learn some dance steps and expand your knowledge of the ins and outs of video recording.

C’mon, take the first step and get with TikTok.

  1. Barbara, my grandsons and their partners are very much into TikTok; their mum says it’s because they love to ‘watch’ rather than read. I believe this is true for many of the younger generation.
Your post has made me realise the importance of staying connected with technology. Whatever the ‘new’ happens to be it tends to change very quickly these day!. Though, rather be with it than not…

    • I decided to learn the in’s and out’s of the TikTok dances because another blogger suggested that I expand from one type of dance to many types of dances. TikTok hit the nail on the head in that regard. There are so many variations and I’m getting a kick out of learning some of them. Here’s to technology…cheers!
