Shuffle Dancing to Electro Swing is Fun

Estimated reading time: 3 minutes

I spend a good part of my day looking for awesome dance videos. With this intention, recently I looked for some Swing dancing videos. Finally, after lots of searching, I hit paydirt with a video entitled, Electro Swing & Shuffle – Top 10 – The Best of the Most Motivated Dancers. Electro Swing music is featured along with some superfine shuffle dancing. I know you’re gonna love it.

Before we get to the video, the Urban Dictionary definition of Shuffling is:

A dance style originating in the 1980s characterized by the fast heel and toe twisting and stepping, running man variations, stomping with the beat, foot swiveling from side to side, and having feet that appear to be gliding on and off the ground.

Running man dance move – yes.
(This guy – no!)

To begin with, your feet and arms do most of the work in this dance. In addition to enjoying a fun dance, you can expect a very fast-paced and intense cardio workout. When it comes to music, dance to Techno, Electro Swing, or any music with a consistent and heavy beat.

Although it’s sometimes danced in socks or bare feet, to avoid injury, wear shoes when shuffling. Many shufflers gain some popularity by dancing in public, but mostly by posting their videos.

To be sure, after watching shuffle dancing videos, you’ll probably want to learn how to do it.

Your conversation might go something like this:

A: “Holy shit dude, what’s that guy doing?! It looks like he’s floating on air as he’s stomping to the music!”
B: “Yeah, he’s just shuffling”
A: “DAMN! I want to do that!

This video, Electro Swing & Shuffle – Top 10 – The Best of the Most Motivated Dancers, was produced by Vico Neo.

Music: “Public Enemy Pt 1” by Odd Chap

He’s also one of the dancers – the guy in the black suit and fedora. In fact, Vico’s got lots of videos on shuffling. With this in mind, if you fancy this one, I recommend you check him out.

Vico Neo loves to Shuffle.

Want some tips on Shuffling?

I wouldn’t be the least bit surprised if you wanted to be able to rock the Shuffle moves from the video. It’s probably gonna take some time to look like these dancers, but Mavis Everett has this short tutorial called, “How to Shuffle – Getting Up to Speed“.

In the event that you’d like to know more about Electro Swing music, check out the Dance Safari post, โ€œElectro Swing…Funky, Feel-Good Musicโ€. Indeed, it is!

As I watch the dancers, I almost get the feeling that their bodies have been hijacked by the music. So much so that I can’t help thinking how delightful that would be!
